Wouldn't it be nice if the US had taken a moral stance on the rules of war?

Then we could say, "Hey, we follow the rules, they don't."

As it is, we torture and use off country sites to skirt the legal issues of holding prisoners..

... which I guess is somehow morally different than using rape.

...unles one wants to equate sexual humiliation with rape... such as what got photographed at Abu Grahib..

Hey... pro American here, anti Jihad... all that...

But it's just a clash of cultures.

It's not good vs. evil.... it's just a war.

We are not good enough to effectively paint the conflict as being good against evil.

It's just us against them.

I hope we win... but I dunno if we're in a position to claim a moral advantage.

I think the US gave up the moral position as a matter of official policy.

Sorry anonymous... there are no rules. When a war is existential - which is how the Islamists perceive it - it behooves the other party to take it seriously.

The rules of polite society go out the window in that case.
